In meditation you bring the focus inward to increase calmness, concentration, and emotional balance. Seated meditation usually begins with sitting in a comfortable position, bringing all your awareness to your breath consciously guiding the mind toward an anchor, or a single point of focus. Meditation is integrated in each yoga class. We practice breath-awareness meditation and guided meditation. “The thing about meditation is: You become more and more you.”

Mindfulness is the simple act of paying attention, noticing and being present in what you are doing. You can practice mindfulness anytime and anywhere by being fully engaged in the here and now. When most people go about their daily lives, their minds wander from the actual activity they are participating in, to other thoughts. When you are mindful, you are actively involved in the activity. “Mindfulness is beyond any one tradition or faith, it is a skill to integrate with your life as it is .”

Meditation is about allowing yourself to be exactly where you are and as you are and for the world to be exactly as it is in this moment, as well. This is hard work, very hard work, especially when what is happening does not conform to our expectations, desires and fantasies. That is why learning to cultivate self-compassion is part of our programme.
“The most powerful relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself.”

‘Without meditation, you’re like a blind in a world full of beauty, light and color.’ – Krishnamurti

“Don’t go outside to search for jewels. Don’t even bother with that excursion, my friend. There are jewels inside yourself. Precious, profound and ready to be discovered.”
